Young Texas Construction Worker Killed in Fall

Falls are common forms of construction accidents, and sadly a young construction worker in Texas recently died after falling nearly 30 feet while on the job.

The man, only 27 years old, fell while installing a piece of catwalk at the construction site. He stepped on an unsteady portion of the catwalk, which caused it to tip, and he lost his balance.

A witness reported that the man was wearing a safety harness, but it was not connected to anything.

The man died immediately.

Alcohol and Construction Sites Don't Mix.

There's a very lucky construction worker in Douglas County, Colorado.

A drunk driver hit a street sweeper when he was driving through a closed construction lane. The man driving the street sweeper was thrown from the device, but survived the incident. He was injured, however, and he was treated for his injuries and released.

The drunk driver died in the accident.

Another Construction Worker Killed

A construction worker in Verona, PA was killed recently when he was struck by falling concrete.

The man was only 29 years old.

According to an initial investigation, the man was working on the fourth floor of a structure in an assisted living facility when a crane lifting materials struck the floor above him, causing the concrete to fall.

Falling objects cause many construction accidents every year.

Construction Worker Dies in Railroad Tunnel Accident

A man was crushed to death early this morning in a construction accident that occurred in a train tunnel in West Virginia.

Officials told WSAZ news that the victim was operating an excavator and working on the roof of the tunnel when the roof collapsed on top of him.

No other workers were injured in the accident.

IL Man Dies in Construction Accident

A 32-year-old man from Skokie, IL has recently died in a construction accident.

A piece of clothing the man was wearing became twisted around his neck while working with a machine at a construction site, according to the medical examiner's office.

Only few details are currently available, but it is known that the man was a contractor working with sewer equipment. He was hospitalized as a result of the accident, and later died.

More Updates on India Construction Accident

More details are now emerging about the tragic construction accident in India where many were killed after a chimney collapsed in a construction site.

The official death toll is now 39, much higher than the original number believed to be dead.

The 330-foot chimney in a power plant was under construction. It collapsed in bad weather.

According to an article about the incident, construction accidents are relatively common in India because of lax safety oversight. It noted, however, that this was one of the worst recent construction accidents.

Another tragic construction accident death

Yet another fatal construction accident to report.

This one happened in Virginia, where a man died after a crane fell into a lake. The worker was busy dismantling a private dock when the accident occurred. He fell to his death when the giant crane slid off the barge that held it above the water and fell 70 feet down into the lake.

The worker killed was an experienced construction worker, having been in the field for more than 30 years.

Falls are one of the most common forms of construction accidents. As in this case, they can often be deadly.
