A biotech company called BHR Pharma LLC has recently received a sole license for a breakthrough treatment for traumatic brain injury.

The Washington Business Journal said that industry experts believe the licensed treatment could be the first real fix for TBI "from a debilitating blow to the head."

The article says that the treatment uses the female hormone progesterone. This hormone used in the treatment may ease the effects of traumatic brain injury.

There will be trails launched in the coming year to perform further research on the treatment.
